"So that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault, in this crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe." - Phi. 2:15

On a happiness scale from 1 to 10….

…I think I’m at a 10 :-) Wow! At last night’s bible study, we went around to say what we liked to be prayed for. I tried really hard to think of something that gives me trouble in my life at this point. Something that is keeping me from sleeping or eating, something that makes me worry. Couldn’t come up with a single thing! So strange! I ended up asking that people pray I won’t take this happiness and contentment for granted. We tend to only look for God in times of fear, struggle, and pain. But I want to always appreciate Him! Just like I have been. Things have been so wonderful this whole year. I feel inspired, free, open-minded, flexible, light-hearted… And why shouldn’t I be? God is in control, I’m just sitting in the passenger seat.

The month of March was busy, as usual, but successful. I completed the Shamrock Shuffle 8k (4.9miles) on March 21st. It was a little chilly, but I managed to cross the finish line after 56:13 minutes. Not too shabby for my first race, if I may say so. I also ended up raising $860 for Haiti through World Vision, which I found a huge accomplishment, considering that I only thought I’d raise about $200 :-)

Shamrock Shuffle

I guess it is a new “thing” in my life to set project deadlines. Projects, that I come up with myself, normally things to get something done to help other people. After the Shamrock Shuffle, I started debating and debating and talking to people who were very encouraging. The result: I registered for the Chicago Marathon on 10/10/10. That is 26.2 miles or 42.2 km by the way! :-/ It feels like a dream (or nightmare?!) that I agreed to run that distance, considering that I’ve never been a runner in my life! But a lot of people have been encouraging and saying that anyone can do it. If ANYONE can do, I for sure can do it! And I had been thinking about doing a race last year with Israel, I was just too scared to make that first step (literally!). Either way, I am now officially on a training schedule: 3 times during the week and 1 long run on the weekends. I ran 6 miles 10 days ago, I have the same goal for this weekend. Wish me luck!
