"So that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault, in this crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe." - Phi. 2:15

1st week of 2010: Happy :-)

What an awesome week!! How great it is to just be in  a good mood and not letting anything bring you down. Especially the weekend was great, I got so much done!! Went rock climbing for the first time in my life. Since I’m a little afraid of heights, I struggled during the first round because I didn’t necessarily trust the girl at X-Sport to let me down safely. I think I made it 20 feet. The second time was much better and I gained a little more trust, so I want to say I climbed maybe 40 feet?! I just didn’t know where else to go after that..rock climbing By the way, the wall is over 60 feet tall!! I’ll try again next week.  (I surely didn’t look as stylish as the model in the picture ;->).

Since I am a little broke after the xmas season, I decided to go home and bake. Haha, I made about 60 cookies FROM SCRATCH!! Never done that before, but it was fun. They were supposed to be chocolate chip cookies, but they tasted more like sugar cookies with chocolate chips in them. I am pretty proud of myself, though, they are nice and soft. Both Mindy and Maddie thought they were yummy. I got the recipe from a random website and now that I have all that flour, white and brown sugar, baking soda and other ingredients left, I will make a point to make more soon. I’ll just have to get people to eat them, haha. We’ll see how people at work will like them.

Saturday morning, I managed to clean out my entire closet!! WHOA!! What a relief to say good bye to three garbage bags of clothes. There were a lot of winter clothes, so someone at Good Will will (hopefully!) stay warm during this chilly season :-)

We had another Haiti Collection’s Team meeting after church today with Heidi and Lauren. They are both so super sweet. And creative!! I thank God that they are coming up with such fun ideas to encourage our church community to participate in donating things. In December we collected change for prescription medicines. This month, we want to collect children’s clothing and underwear. I’m so excited to see how much we can get!! Our team is leaving for Haiti on February 19th to serve more train pastors and treat orphans as well as the community with medical attention. I’m SO excited for them!!!!!!

Btw, I made a lentil soup, German style today! Didn’t taste all too bad.. Mmmhhh, maybe I should cook more, I really like it! Plus, I have food for the rest of the week: easier & cheaper.
