"So that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault, in this crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe." - Phi. 2:15

I am the Captain of my Soul!

It’s funny how things work out. Five months ago, I was sad to the bottom of my heart, questioning my future plans and my emotions. Today, I feel much better. I think I see a lot of things a lot more clearer. My relationship with God has grown tremendously, to the point where I feel guilty when I don’t communicate with Him enough. I have to keep reminding myself to take a moment and rest in His arms. Life has been pretty hectic lately. I really have been running around taking on more and more and more things. But I LOVE it!! The last couple of weekends, there was no room for rest. Some of the things I’ve done and participated in included

  • Working (yes, on Saturday as well)
  • Ashley’s was home for her baby shower! She looked absolutely beautiful and I am so tremendously happy for the blessing she’s received. Her little baby girl Elliana Ruth will be born in May.

  • My dear Stephanie Wiese turned 30 on January 4th. For her birthday, our friend Nikki Gladd threw her a surprise Tapas party (Steph is from Spanish background). It was heart-warming to witness Steph’s sincere reaction when she saw us all. Not to mention the delicious food that Nikki prepared!!

  • After I hadn’t seen them in since the summer of last year, Hal Weitzman and Lorna Campbell invited me to their house. Hal was a co-worker/friend of Israel’s. They are very precious people and have the most beautiful little daughter, Orlie. It was great to see that I can still be friends with people that were once connected only through Israel. I wish to never lose touch with them, because they have grown so close to my heart.

  • While enjoying all of life’s pleasures, I also had to undergo some treatment…. Dr. Singh apparently thought I needed seven fillings and since he is such a fun and cute dentist, I agreed to let him torture me :-) I survived. I’ve never been scared of the dentist, and laying on his chair was actually a lot of fun. He’s a great dentist and I trust him to keep me smiling!
  • What else? YES! I met with Romain Haas-Nunge. After 5.5 years, I finally saw him again. He was the tour guide on my trip from New York to San Francisco in September 2004. He just recently moved from Strasbourg, France, to Montreal, Canada with his wife and 4 month of precious daughter. I told him about my plans to move to France and wasn’t very delighted about that. Since he’s travelled the world, I value his opinion quite a bit. He said the life in France would be a lot different than in the U.S., especially in Paris, where people are very rude. That definitely got me thinking.
  • NEW IDEAS: I’ve thought about moving to Geneva before, but I didn’t think I would do that until I had more experience in the humanitarian field. But why wait? Geneva is the center of international humanitarian organizations in Europe. The UN is there with all its sub-organizations.
  • OH!!! I started my French classes!!! My ex professor Vincent Petrini-Poli agreed to give me lessons once a week for a very affordable price. I am so excited. Now I just have to focus on studying and keeping up with the homework he’s given me :-)
